When you meet Grant Phillips, you’re sure to agree that he has a unique quality of making you feel right at home. That’s because he takes great pride in living in DeSoto County, where he grew up.
During Grant’s banking career, he has focused extensively on commercial and agricultural loans, and he has a deep appreciation and respect for Mississippi businessmen and women. “I always try to make myself easily accessible to my customers and respond quickly,” he said. “I also believe people truly value a relationship in which their banker takes the time to know them personally and give them honest, straightforward answers. Knowing your customer and gaining an appreciation and understanding of their business is essential to providing value to their operation as a lender,” he said.
Describing himself as both self-motivated and passionate about serving his customers, Grant tries his best to live by the quote that says “No one cares how much you know until they know who much you care.”
Grant received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Mississippi College in 2013 and his MBA in Finance in 2019. Always striving to further his education, he also completed studies at the Southeastern School of Consumer Credit and the Mississippi School of Banking at Ole Miss.
A graduate of Northpoint Christian School in Southaven, Grant says he can hardly wait for basketball season when he will have an opportunity to serve as their play-by-play commentator for their radio broadcast. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, duck hunting, and watching football—especially the Dallas Cowboys on Sundays.
Grant has lived in Indianola, where he was a former member of the Indianola Rotary Club and also served as President at one time. He also enjoyed being a member of the Mid-Delta Arts Association and Mid-Delta Association Community Theatre Organization where he served as Treasurer.
He currently lives with his family in Southaven, Mississippi, and is an Ambassador for the Southaven Chamber of Commerce, member of BNI North Mississippi Achievers and a volunteer coach and radio broadcast for Northpoint Christian School.
Originally from Los Angeles, Grant’s wife, Amy, is a First Grade elementary school teacher at Northpoint Christian School, and they met in Indianola through the Mid-Delta Arts Association.
