With over 17 years of professional experience in the financial industry, John has gained the knowledge needed to help his clients succeed with their businesses. As a former Registered Financial Advisor and a Senior Loan Service Counselor/Research Specialist, he has managed many multimillion-dollar portfolios, conducted public financial education seminars, and provided personalized services specific to his clients' individual needs. During his years with CNB he has served his customers through Accounting, Finance and Credit Administration as the Credit Analyst Manager.
John is a graduate of Mississippi State University with a master's degree in Business and a magna cum laude graduate of Liberty University with a bachelor's degree in Business Finance. John says, "Meridian is my home, and I have a vested interest in seeing our local businesses grow and prosper. The knowledge I've gained throughout the years will be an asset to me as I help our local business owners achieve their financial goals and make our community better." Currently John is enrolled in the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.
John and his family enjoy taking vacations and traveling. He has two children, Frances, who is four, and John Melton, who is one. They are members of Central United Methodist Church in Meridian.
In his spare time, you can find John playing a few rounds of golf with his friends or volunteering in surrounding counties with the Young Professionals of Meridian. His activity in the community continues to grow as he is a Board Member and Treasurer of L.O.V.E.'S Kitchen and Meridian Museum of Art. He also volunteers for the Queen City Chapter of Ducks Unlimited and is a member of the Meridian Civitan Club where he help the position as past President and President Elect. He also volunteered as a member of the capital campaign to raise funds for the Mississippi Children's Museum-Meridian location.
His greatest accomplishment was graduating from high school and college with high honors while working a full-time job throughout his entire academic career. He says, "I am thankful for the opportunity I was given to work full-time through school because it taught me how to be humble, dedicated, and adaptive."
