Kory Moore genuinely cares about helping people, and that's one of the main reasons that he has been extremely successful in his banking career so far. "I love talking with people and hearing their stories - their fears, dreams and how they got to where they are," he said. "I also feel that I'm relatable and dependable, and I always strive to do what's right for my customers," he added.
That same love for people led Kory to pursue vocational ministry at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary after he graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi, and Kory says he still enjoys preaching from time to time. As a First Lieutenant in the Mississippi Air National Guard, Kory recently had an opportunity to assist in the recovery of the Florida panhandle area after it was hit by Hurricane Michael, and he says it was an experience that he will never forget.
Originally from Magee, MS, Kory has experience as a commercial lender, branch manager, and personal banker over the course of his career. Actively involved in the community, he serves as a Board Member for the YMCA of Southeast MS and he is also an active member of the Area Development Partnership and the Pine Belt Young Professionals.
He and his wife, Nicole, are members of Hope Church in Hattiesburg where they enjoy serving as Trustees and Life Groups Coaches. In their free time, they enjoy traveling with their dog Murphy, who is a Poochon, and watching Southern Miss sports events.
One of Kory’s favorite quotes comes from Thomas Edison, and it says: "Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work."
