Chip Hines, Chief Credit Officer for CNB, received several prestigious awards during the 2018 Mississippi Ducks Unlimited State Convention which was held in Tupelo during the weekend of July 26th through 29th.
Serving as Area Chairman for the Queen City Chapter of Ducks Unlimited, the Queen City Chapter finished in first place in terms of volunteers for 2017 and 2018. Also serving as District Chairman for a 10-county area, Chip was recognized as the 2017 District Chairman of the Year. In addition to these honors, Chip was recognized by the CEO of the national chapter, Dale Hall, who was present at the state convention. CEO Hall presented Chip with one of his personal silver belt buckles. Over the history of the
national organization, only five such presentations have been made by CEO Hall in the state of Mississippi.
Chip has been a member of Ducks Unlimited for nearly 20 years – first serving the chapter in his hometown of Macon. For the past several years, he has served as the Area Chairman for the Queen City Chapter of Ducks Unlimited in Meridian, and has led the organization in its efforts to increase annual donations from less than $1,000 each year to approximately $47,000. These dollars are significant because the National Chapter, through its various partnerships, typically matches every dollar raised on the local level with $4. Not only do these dollars further the organization’s mission of conservation and preserving the wetlands, but they even fund projects that result in cleaner drinking water.
The key contributors to the local chapter’s fundraising success have been a fall banquet and a spring crawfish boil, as well as other recruitment efforts. Chip said that volunteer support is critical to the success of these efforts, and CNB’s Downtown Banking Centre employees have stepped forward in large numbers to lend a hand and demonstrate the Power of Local action.
Chip has also served as State Treasurer of the organization for the past eight years. Congratulations, Chip, and all of our CNB volunteers for making a difference through Ducks Unlimited!
