Nan Watkins Achieves Certification

Nan Watkins, a Vice President and Mortgage Originator in the Meridian Region, recently achieved a prestigious certification from the American Bankers Association.  As a result of completing 31 online courses, Nan has received her ABA Residential Mortgage Lender Certificate.

The curriculum in this program provided Nan with an opportunity to expand her knowledge in such areas as credit and tax return analysis, appraisal review, prequalification and underwriting as well as legal principles that support the mortgage process. According to the ABA, this program also emphasizes relationship sales skills in addition to the mechanics of processing mortgage loans, which enable lenders to be more successful in growing their line of business while also helping their bank to cross-sell additional services that would be of benefit to the customer.

With over 32 years of experience, Nan has spent 25 of those years in mortgage lending, and has been a member of the CNB team since 2016.  In addition to this most recent ABA certification, Nan is also a certified Home Buyer Education Counselor and a member of the Mississippi Mortgage Bankers Association.

She and her husband, Steve, are members of First Baptist Church in Philadelphia. They have two children and two grandchildren.
