November Golden Apple Award Event

Citizens National Bank is proud to serve as a key sponsor of the Golden Apple program which recognizes outstanding K-12 educators and administrators in the Mississippi counties of Lauderdale, Neshoba, Kemper, Clarke, and Newton, as well as Choctaw and Sumter counties in Alabama.

Through this sponsorship, it was our pleasure to visit Quitman High School in Quitman, Mississippi, on

Apple Award recipient), and Neil Henry (Meridian Regional President)

Friday, November 10th, and surprise Michelle Davis with the Golden Apple Award for the month of November.  Neil Henry, President of CNB’s Meridian Region, made the official presentation, and he was surrounded by a host of other CNB representatives who came out to show their support of the program.  Neil commended Davis for her efforts and encouraged all students in attendance to do their best since a good education is extremely vital to their future success.

With 25 years of teaching experience, Davis wears many hats at the school. In addition to teaching English, Davis serves as a Homecoming organizer and Student Council Advisor and received glowing remarks from both her peers and students who nominated her to receive this honor. She received a laptop and desk computer, as well as a Teacher of the Month certificate, a $300 cash award, and a $150 donation to her Adopt a Classroom account.

She will be recognized at a banquet in May 2018, along with the other seven monthly winners, and she becomes eligible to win the Golden Apple Teacher of the Year award which will be presented at that time.

Citizens National Bank salutes all area teachers and we appreciate the outstanding contribution that they make to our local communities.
