Teresa Thornhill - Leading Business Women in Mississippi

Teresa Thornhill has been chosen as one of the Mississippi Business Journal’s 50 Leading Business Women in Mississippi for 2016.

This prestigious award is presented to women throughout the state on the basis of their personal and business achievement, and each become part of a development and networking organization that encompasses training with ongoing opportunities for the inducted women to grow together as business leaders.

With 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, Thornhill serves as Chief Wealth Management Officer for the Bank, which has 26 locations throughout the state of Mississippi and assets totaling $1.3 billion.  In the position of Chief Wealth Management Officer, Thornhill oversees the administration and management of approximately $970 million in assets and leads strategic initiatives for the Wealth Management team.

She will be honored in the Business Journal’s special 50 Leading Women magazine, which will be published on September 30th.  In this magazine, each award recipient will be recognized for their outstanding contributions to their companies and communities, and in February 2017, eleven finalists will be chosen and honored at a luncheon where the Business Woman of the Year will be announced.

Thornhill’s career includes 14 years of service with Trustmark in Jackson, where she served as Wealth Management Marketing and Administration Manager, President of The Performance Funds and a director of Trustmark Investment Advisors, Inc.

She also previously served Deposit Guaranty National Bank for seven years as Product Manager for the DG Investor Series Mutual Funds and Asset Management Compliance Officer.  A graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Thornhill has held NASD licenses 7, 24, 27, 53 and 63 throughout her career.  In addition, she has also served as a former NASD arbitrator and MSRB Advisory Committee member. 

Currently, she serves as a board member of The Montgomery Institute whose mission promotes the betterment of people in East Mississippi and West Alabama.  She is married to Tom Williams, President and CEO of the Meridian Airport Authority, and together they have four children.
