New Banking Centre in Brandon

New Banking Centre in Brandon BRANDON, Miss. (April 23, 2026) — Citizens National Bank celebrated the official opening of its new Brandon Banking Centre with a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday, highlighting the bank’s continued investment in Mississippi communities and its commitment to local decision-making and hometown service. Community leaders, elected officials, economic development partners and bank leadership gathered at the new full-service banking centre, located at 241 West Government Street, for a formal ribbon cutting followed by a Business After Hours reception.

The Brandon Banking Centre is the only bank currently operating in historic downtown Brandon, reinforcing Citizens National Bank’s role in supporting economic vitality and access to financial services in the heart of the city. The ceremony featured welcoming remarks from Tom Troxler, a member of the Rankin County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors; an opening prayer by Brent Leach, sports evangelism and men’s director at First Baptist Brandon; and remarks from Harry Williams, ward three alderman for the City of Brandon. Additional remarks were provided by Garrett Wright, executive director of Rankin First Economic Development Authority, along with Citizens National Bank leadership.

“Opening our Brandon Banking Centre represents more than a new location — it reflects our long-term commitment to investing in Mississippi and the communities we serve,” said Hampton Thames, president and chief executive officer of Citizens National Bank. “Downtown Brandon is a historic and vibrant area, and we are proud to be the only bank serving the downtown area with the power of local decision-making.”

Johnny Beck, senior vice president and Brandon president for Citizens National Bank, also addressed attendees, emphasizing the bank’s focus on relationship banking and community partnerships. “The opening of our Brandon Banking Centre is a meaningful step in deepening our relationship with this community,” said Beck. “Having a full‑service bank in historic downtown Brandon reinforces our commitment to local businesses, families and leaders, and to being a true banking partner invested in the long-term success of this area.”

Presentations during the program included remarks from Jennifer Lay, executive director of Brandon Main Street; Daniel Lang, board member for the Chamber of Flowood; and Tom Troxler, Rankin County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Immediately following the ribbon cutting ceremony, guests enjoyed a Business After Hours event featuring food, beverages, live music, networking and tours of the new banking centre.

The Brandon Banking Centre is part of Citizens National Bank’s broader strategy to invest in Mississippi through thoughtful expansion into growing communities. The new banking centre is open to serve the community Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday.
