Welcome Bill Bethany
MADISON, Miss. — Citizens National Bank is pleased to announce the hiring of Bill Bethany as senior vice president and relationship banker for the bank’s Madison Banking Centre. In this role, Bethany will focus on developing long-term client relationships and delivering customized financial solutions to individuals and businesses throughout the Madison market.Recognized by the Mississippi Business Journal as a top 50 under 40 awardee, Bethany brings more than two decades of experience in commercial banking, private client services and financial leadership with a strong background in relationship-driven lending, portfolio management and market development. Over the course of his banking career, he has managed loan portfolios of up to $32 million and has worked extensively with small businesses, high-net-worth clients and commercial real estate professionals.

Most recently, Bethany served as chief operating officer for Bellamare Development in Ridgeland, where he led operational, financial and administrative functions for a commercial real estate development firm. In that role, he oversaw capital planning, cash flow management, commercial sales and lease negotiations, and enterprise-wide operational initiatives supporting long-term growth and risk management.
Prior to that, Bethany served as market president for First Bank in Madison, where he oversaw regional loan production, deposit growth and branch profitability while leading staff development and strengthening community and business relationships. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles with Renasant Bank, Community Bank of Mississippi and Regions Bank, managing commercial, construction and private client portfolios while consistently exceeding production and performance goals.
Bethany earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Delta State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from The University of Southern Mississippi. He is also a graduate of the Mississippi School of Banking. A graduate of Leadership Lauderdale, Bethany has served as a board member for the Ridgeland Chamber of Commerce, Home Builders Association of Jackson and the Home Builders Association of Mississippi.
