LaPortia Coney Promoted
FLOWOOD, Miss. — Citizens National Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of LaPortia Coney to bank manager at their Castlewoods Banking Centre in Flowood. Coney brings a strong background in retail banking, operations and leadership to her new role, along with a deep commitment to serving both her team and the community.Coney joined Citizens National Bank in 2021 and has held several key roles during her tenure, including customer service representative supervisor, CSR and CSR supervisor trainer, as well as universal banker. She also was a key contributor during the bank’s core system conversion and has supported multiple operational and training initiatives across the organization.
In her new role as bank manager, Coney will lead the Castlewoods retail staff and oversee daily branch operations. Her responsibilities include promoting a service-driven culture, strengthening customer relationships and driving sustainable growth while continuing to invest in team and community development.
Reflecting on her promotion, Coney shared, “from my first interview with CNB, everything felt aligned. Each role I’ve held has prepared me for this opportunity, and I’m excited to bring those experiences together to support my team and continue growing with an institution that truly invests in its people.”
Coney’s leadership and performance have been recognized throughout her career, including earning the bank’s High Performer Award eight times and receiving the organization’s Rising Star Award. She also holds a project management certification and brings prior experience across multiple banking functions including compliance, loan review and operations.
